Terms and Conditions of trade with The Furniture Place Pty Ltd (ABN: 57 680 164 765)

  1. Your purchase of Goods is subject to certain laws including, without limitation, the Australian Consumer Law. The Australian Consumer Law provides you with certain rights that cannot be excluded, including that the Goods: must be of acceptable quality; be reasonably fit for the purpose that we say they will be fit for; and will correspond with any relevant description.
  2. Nothing in these Terms & Conditions shall be read or applied so as to exclude, restrict or modify or have the effect of excluding, restricting or modifying any condition, warranty, guarantee, right or remedy implied by law (including the Australian Consumer Law) which cannot by law be excluded, restricted or modified.
  3. Please note that our reclaimed wood products are made of recycled timber and as a result will have characteristics such as worm holes, tree scars, differences in timber grain etc. which is not a product fault and is a part of the design. Each piece is unique and will contain these features in different parts of the item. It is a deliberate and intended part of the design.
  4. You are entitled to a replacement or refund if the goods purchased are faulty.
  5. If your goods have arrived damaged please let us know as soon as possible. Damaged goods returns must be reported to us within 7 days of receiving your purchase. In the case of damaged or faulty goods, a photograph of the item can help us determine the best way we can assist you. Please include a photograph with your email.
  6. Please do not send item(s) back to The Furniture Place Pty Ltd without first contacting our online team. Contact customer service via: hello@thefurnitureplace.com.au
  7. Once the return is approved we will organise a pick-up within 60kms of our Busselton store. Should an item need to be returned beyond this distance, the customer will be liable for the cost of the item being collected and returned to us. 
  8. You must be able to produce a proof of purchase for any goods being returned.
  9. We do not offer refunds, exchanges, or store credits due to a change of mind.
  10. The Furniture Place Pty Ltd reserves the right not to offer an exchange voucher, refund or repair where the item fault is a result of misuse, poor storage or neglect.
  11. Gift cards are a non-returnable item. Gift cards have an expiry date of 24 months from the date of purchase.
  12. To redeem your Gift Card, please present the card at the time of purchase in the store only. Gift Cards are currently unable to be used on our website.
  13. The Furniture Place Pty Ltd reserves the right to charge for the collection of returns items which the buyer is unable to return to The Furniture Place Pty Ltd warehouse themselves.
  14. Should the buyer not accept delivery of the item at the agreed upon time, the buyer may be charged a re-delivery fee.
  15. Should the buyer require the delivery time or location to be changed, The Furniture Place Pty Ltd reserves the right to charge for changed delivery time or location.
  16. The Furniture Place Pty Ltd warranties
    1. Any additional warranties below do not apply to:

      Where damage is a result of abuse, improper care or use, including (but not limited to) improper maintenance, failure to follow Care Instructions, exposure to direct sunlight, salt air, chemicals, spillages, water and any use for which the product was not designed or where damage is a result of ordinary wear-and-tear;

      Damage as a result of failure to follow our care instructions or specifications;

      Damage incurred in the movement or relocation of a product;

      Where products have been exposed to extreme conditions or it has come into contact with dyes, solvents, acid or other corrosive liquids or materials, incorrect cleaning techniques or exposing products to direct heat, sunlight or moisture where the product has not been designed for such use.
